Sample map slideshow

Email Print PDF

This is a first article with a WISroGIS map embeded, displaying a map slideshow based on sample travel locations location on top of 4 exchangeable base layers (click top-right button Layer Switcher from the map to open Layer Switcher): Google Satellite, Google Streets,OpenStreetMaps Mapnik,OpenStreetMaps Osmarender.

Various travel locations from around the world. Short description of placemarks courtesy to wikipedia.org.

Map's initial position and zoom level is automatically determined so that all placemarks are visible within initial extent.

For each placemark the corresponding country flag icon was used. The coordinates (map locations) were determined by city & country Google address geocoding.

Sample weather location added by enabling on map's configuration the Yahoo Weather plugin (part of WISroGIS Power Pack).

Earth | Time Lapse View from Space, Fly Over | NASA, ISS

Earth | Time Lapse View from Space, Fly Over | NASA, ISS from Michael König on Vimeo.

Time lapse sequences of photographs taken by the crew of expeditions
28 & 29 onboard the International Space Station from August to October,
2011, who to my knowledge shot these pictures at an altitude of around 350 km.
All credit goes to them. I intend to upload a FullHD-version presently.

HD, refurbished, smoothed, retimed, denoised, deflickered, cut, etc.
All in all I tried to keep the looks of the material as original as possible,
avoided adjusting the colors and the like, since in my opinion the original
footage itself already has an almost surreal and aestethical visual nature.
